Both types of lymphocytes originate the same, but develop into either type of lymphocyte depending on where they mature
Both lymphocytes originate from the
pluripotent stem cells
in the bone marrow.
If they migrate from the bone marrow to the thymus: a gland in the thymatic cavity above the heart, they become T cells
(T for Thymus).
T Helper Cell
If they remain in the bone marrow and complete their maturation, they become B cells (B for Bone Marrow).
